The Pink Panther finds a little bird who needs to go south for the winter but who is just staring to learn to fly and having no success. The helpful Panther tries several methods to teach his little friend how it is done but all fail. Going to a tall building he uses a fishing rod to dangle the bird in the air. A nearby cat sees the bird as a free lunch setting up a series of confrontations. The Panther ends up making a parachute, taking the bird to a tall building and starting him on his way. . Still the bird can’t fly and the parachute lands in a junkyard guarded by a nasty dog. Having run out of ideas,, the Panther puts his little friend on a southbound jet plane and all ends well. In fact, the Panther has learned a helpful new skill seen in use in the surprise ending.
